Deep in South Charlotte a road known as Providence Road used to be one of the main arteries of the city. Some of the finest neighborhoods we have to offer are found along this winding road, and most are named for it in some variety.

Providence Plantation is one of the most varied of these neighborhoods, with homes priced from $300k to over a million, and everything in between. The homes in Providence Plantation usually have larger than normal lots and many fully developed trees: perhaps you could almost say forests. Many have full basements. If you are looking for a home with an "out in the country" feel, this might be the place for you to begin your search.

Although it looks and feels like a very private place to call home, you are really very near some of the biggest shopping areas in Charlotte. And the best part of any Providence home is the proximity to 3 of the most highly ranked schools in North Carolina.

Providence Spring Elementary is the finest grade school in the state. Crestdale Middle School is in the top 20 NC schools, and Providence High School is in the top 10. It doesn't get much better than that! Many folks decide to move to this area purely to have their children in these fine schools.

Amenities include a community pool, tennis courts, and many family oriented activities to entertain the children. Another unusual item of note about the homes in Providence Plantation is that each section has a "themed" street name and even names for the homes themselves. Streets named for characters out of Margaret Mitchell's "Gone with the Wind" or King Arthur's "Camelot" create a neighborhood feeling of history, mystery, and warmth that is not often found today.
